“The “Dead Internet Theory” is a concept suggesting that the internet has largely been abandoned by humans and replaced by non-human activity. It posits that most online content, interactions, and engagement metrics are driven by bots, algorithms, and artificial intelligence, creating the illusion of a vibrant, human-driven web.”
hey, do we have a list of all the comic strips that have individual communities? the ones the artists make just for themselves so they can post all their stuff without worrying about flooding this community.
Tools used were primarily Google’s Antigravity with Opus 4.6/Gemini Flash 3.5, and Cursor with Composer 2.5. The code is Python with sqlite3 and vanilla JavaScript. It has a map that allows you to filter by month, weekday, rider type and activity. This can be used to pinpoint the locations with the most activity by rider type and time of year. The difference in behavior between member and casual riders is pretty interesting. Divvy didn’t seem to do too well last year during this period, but hopefully will have a stronger 2026. I worked on this briefly a while ago during my data analysis certificate, I’ve improved it and now I’m hosting it live. If you have any issues with it please let me know, there may be a few bugs. Thanks for reading.
When one of my lettuce plants started wilting, I pulled on it and found I could just pull it straight out of the soil with no resistance. On the roots, I found these maggots. (You may need enlarge the picture a bit.)
Rather overcast this morning, for all we’re told we’re about to have a massive heatwave… anyway, always happy to see a Nuthatch in Prospect Park, UK, even if they like the shade. Ring-necked Parakeets are escapes/introductions that have managed to survive and thrive in the wild in parts of the UK - but are seen as destructive & noisy.
Arch users have the latest softwares, Debian users have LMDE. Is it real that Arch users are rich and have mid level PCs and is always up to date? Well they don’t have Mint(debian edition). Dont need to ask if anyone using it tho cuz its Mint and Debian edition of a distro.
Never seen one of these guys on the tower before. Let alone a nest. I wasn’t up there long. Don’t think I disturbed them too much. One of them eventually sat on the nest till I climbed down.
Random finds today, when i didn’t have my big lens, multiple house martin nests, grey wagtails, pond dippers, skylarks, kestrels, buzzards, always my luck
As always, stay tuned here on !comicstrips\@lemmy.world for a slow trickle out of Jucika comics, but if you want to find more, here’s a good post with a large collection that /u/JohnnyEnzyme\@piefed.social posted last year: https\://piefed.social/post/1258520
I’ve been building DepthSight for the past year - a self-hosted algorithmic trading platform that you run entirely on your own hardware, so your API keys and trading logic never touch a third-party server (like 3Commas or Veles).
My house is 112 years old. I was in my attic and soaking my shirt because it was 120° in there (I live in Florida). I thought how nice it’d be to get some fresh air in there. I thought it’d be even better if I could get that air from the (somewhat) cooler air in my crawlspace. Then I noticed the 4” cast iron pipe that was used to be the drain pipe for the house from 1915 through about 2000. The vent for that pipe runs through my attic and straight down to my crawlspace…unused and forgotten. So I cut the pipe and disconnected it from the roof and cut off and closed up any branches it had. I cut it and slapped a screen on it in the crawlspace. In the attic I put on an inline fan (6 watts) and a bit of duct to vaguely direct it around the attic. Early tests say my attic is about 7° cooler. Am I crazy?

Decided Father’s Day was a good day to install the medicine cabinet that’s been sitting in my bathroom for over a year. Had my son help me with the install.
