My favorite part was when Tom Cruise said “it’s Diggin’ time!” and digged all over the place.
<sigh> wtf Iñárritu?!
Number one movie title you’re afraid of saying in public:
Uh oh: Cruise has a producer credit.
Love him or hate him, Iñárritu makes some wild films. Since he started making movies that center a big star, he’s managed to keep them in front of the camera. DiCaprio didn’t produce The Revenant. Michael Keaton didn’t produce Birdman. Javier Bardem didn’t produce Biutiful. Daniel Giménez Cacho didn’t produce BARDO. They were all in those projects as performers.
But Cruise is putting up cash for this, and in the "retrospective trailer" they just released, it shows.
I like Iñárritu, but that trailer seems especially tacky. I’m not even posting it in the !trailers@lemmy.blajah.zone community; it doesn’t even seem like a proper trailer, just a look-at-me stroke session.
I liked Cruise’s character in Tropic Thunder and always wished he’d do more character work instead of oh so serious oscar contender movies
