Did you know treebeard actually broke his toe in that scene? The pain you see on screen is actually real
so method. I heard he actually lived in character for the entire filming of the movie.
Fun fact: Treebeard also played one of the dwarves. It took 36 hours of makeup every morning to achieve the effect.
I heard Treebeard didn't want to be airlifted to the scene and so walked the entire way to set each morning.
