9:39 "Please understand that social media is not a place to get news and information."

Now I don't know what to think about this video I just watched on social media.

Sometimes you have to use the tools of the enemy to defeat the enemy. 🤗

TL;DW:

  • Check the "residual noise"
  • Parallel lines should converge to a single point (vanishing point)
  • Connect shadows to what casts them, extend the lines, they should meet at the light source

I've just modified my thought process to not believe any photos any more. Only my Mark I eyeballs are trustworthy to me now.

Or ARE they?

Can't even trust my lying eyeballs...

As opposed to real AI photos?

As opposed to fake photoshopped photos, I suppose?

As opposed to real photoshopped photos?

Edit:/j

Fair point, but many photos are not edited to the point of fundamentally changing them. I wouldn't call a touched up wedding photo a "fake".

edit: I guess I was distracting from the point. Yes, "AI" already implies "fake". Guess if someone were to look for "how to spot fake photos" this would help them find this video?

Totes, I wouldn't either haha.

"real" photoshopped photos don't typically add things that aren't there, they just modify things that are.

Not only will it create fake video and photos and articles, but it will also create fake comments, websites to back up the fake, and other articles leaching off of the original fake.

Digital media will become so unreliable that information itself will be at risk of being too untrustworthy to use or share.

I just act as if every photo is man made, that way I don't accidentally shit on a real artist by falsely calling their work AI.

I can't tell if a work is AI generated, so, if someone posts something and they are genuine, I just trust them at their word. I'd rather call 10 AI art pieces good than calling a human made art piece bad.
