I've been enjoying KDE Plasma, but do not have experience with any others so I could not really rank it. I went with KDE based on reading that it was at the forefront when it came to HDR support, and I could also get Wallpaper Engine working with it.
As a KDE hater, I do not endorse or in any way encourage usage of this tier list as an informative source.
Why do you hate KDE?
Their priorities (specifically the lack of focus on stability), future plans, reliance on binary names and their UI design in general. I just like different options. Also I disagree with TLE in a lot of things too.
I don't get why people rave about it...
Everytime I tried it, I just couldn't understand why would anyone like it
I do like it, which is why I asked why people hate it. I personally like the windows style layout, the customization is really nice, and anecdotally it works really well. It's more modern looking out of the box compared to other windows style-by-default DEs too. I just hate GNOME personally, but that's mostly because the "workflow" and general organization is different than I'm used to
There is also Wayfire but there are not much apps with it, you need to install GNOME apps for example. It is Wayland only. It is like a wayland Compiz with a basic shell but it is also really modular so you can add or remove easily feature from the DE.
That is so weird, I'm pretty sure I've never seen that Cinnamon logo before and yet it feels super familiar …
@thelinuxexperiment Opinions on LXDE?
@thelinuxexperiment I've never seen the point in Budgie or Pantheon. I'd rank MATE & Xfce in the top tier. Enlightenment certainly deserved a place.

Thanks, Nick. Fellow KDE6 user here. I very much appreciate your design consistency oriented approach. Your previous video from 2023 helped me transition back to linux by shortening the process for picking a desktop environment.
I'd like to suggest a future review or your ipinion of the various kwin tiling / tile-scrolling scripts. They look awesome but I never have the time for comparing them. Maybe along with any other scripts or customization you find helpful.
