Animals already have regional accents!

It’s been proven with cat’s meows. Distinct among various regions. And, they’re based on how human babies cry in those regions IIRC.

Koalas would be Bogan. “Luk at mee n ah’ll scratch ye eyes owt ya pommy cant!”

I think cats would have outrageously fake french accents.

Meerkat 100% would have posh British accents with how they look around.

Ask the British (and apparently Australians too) about that and we might say meerkats are Russian on account of a very popular set of insurance TV advertisements.

That said, I haven’t watched TV in earnest for a few years at this point, specifically before Russia fell from favour, so I’m not sure whether that’s affected their popularity or not.

And I have no idea what we might have said prior to the ad campaign.

Pidgins would be Italians 100%

Do you mean pigeons? If so, agreed.

Pigeons would speak a pidgin language, obviously.

Would it be like “totes mid, fr, fr”? THAT pidgin?

English is my 1st language, gimme a break!!

I didn’t need a reason to reread Redwall, but you just gave me one

I would expect roos to sound very stereotypically Aussie.

This reminds me of The Wild Thornberrys.

Somehow I think ducks would have an accent like the old ‘transatlantic’ accent used by actors from the 1940s.

pigs would be speaking pig latin, dont know which accent though.

they would always be british for some reason.

In my mind Grizzly Bears sound like Maggie Smith.

Cats would speak received pronounciation

Foxes would speak with a flemish accent.

Dogs - German (Huskies - Latino)

Cats - Finnish

Snakes - Parseltounge (yeah not a country but it’s an accent anyway)

Rodents - British

Birds - Arabic

Bugs - Hungarian

Lions - French

Dolphins - American (new york specifically)

Squirrels - Russian

Fish - Indian (I’m under the water please send help)

This encourages racist responses, but no one will notice until a people of color are involved.

All racism is stereotyping, but maybe not all stereotyping is racist.

Moose would sound like John Goodman doing a decent accent.

Canada Geese could sound like peewee herman on meth.

Bears? Dunno.

Bears might sound like Nick Offerman (Ron from Parks & Rec)

What evidence do you have for that ?

/That’ll do pig. That’ll do.

It was a prediction. We need to wait for the evidence.

So far groups mentioned have been Aussie, Brit, French, Italian, and Russian. At the time I made my comment it was Aussie and Italian only.

Giraffes will speak with a Tanzanian accent

Oh, no! How racist

Idiot

You’re the only one to comment with the accent of a people of color. You read my comment and then picked an African animal and gave it the accent of one of the African countries where it lives.

Congratulations for proving me wrong after being aware of my comment. But your entry wasn’t at all funny or enlightening, so we all lose.
